One sunny Austin afternoon, I wandered into the Hype Machine’s Hype Hotel and into a cool cloud of blue and green smoke of sweeping soul and slick old-school charm: I’d just seen and heard the most magnetic man I’d ever encountered. His name was Lee Fields and we already put his album on our top of 2012 list.
