Listen/Download: Contrakids - I’m Already Falling

It’s been far too long since I checked in with Contrakids, but happily they’ve not been idle in the meantime. Far from it, in fact: there are five new tracks up on their Soundcloud since the last one we featured, “Happy Ever”. The latest, “I’m Already Falling”, finds them on fine form; showcasing their trademark minimal beats and awesome-sauce hooks.

Speaking of which, there have been a lot of minimal, dance-inspired acts making it big in the mainstream. I’m thinking of the likes of recent Jay-Z and Kanye West material, or Diplo and Usher’s incredible collaboration. Kudos to Usher: if you’re only going to make one decent track, make it as good as “Climax”. Is it just me, or were Contrakids way ahead of the curve on this one? I say this not just because we featured them way back in the day.

Anyway, with all this new material piling up, I figure it’s probably about time for an EP, or even a full-length release. What do you say boys? The mood is right; the moment is ripe…
