Listen: Dirty Projectors - Buckle Up

Fresh off their seventh full-length, Swing Lo Magellan, Brooklyn’s Dirty Projectors seem to keep us on our feet with an ongoing North American tour - and wait - a new single!

“Buckle Up”, a limited edition 7”, is the six-piece’s rawest effort to date: clocking at just under two minutes, it’s the band’s most lo-fi attempt. The track, not in typical Dirty Projectors-style, has lead singer/guitarist Dave Longstreth’s vocals and guitar work with distortion turned up to eleven, as Amber Coffman and the other angelic vocalists sit this one out.

Although the song is uncharacteristically covered in distortion, Longstreth’s voice maintains that same unique timbre found in almost every other Dirty Projectors track. This track marks a new turn for the band - but even so, they maintain elements that we all know and love.
