Video: Django Django - Hail Bop

It’s fitting that Django Django, who make some of the catchiest, out of this world, space-dwelling synth-pop on this little planet, would have a song that plays on the name of the most spectacular comet to hit our skies in the last 200 years.

Hale-Bopp started showing up in the skies above the northern hemisphere in 1996, pissed off in 1997, and managed to take the members of the Heaven’s Gate cult with them as 39 members all committed a mass suicide in order to reach a spacecraft that was following the comet. Clearly, they were off their fucking tits on noodle juice.

Django Django, on the other hand, just make music that’s off its tits, and we’re all the better for it. “Hail Bop” is taken from their stunning, yet under-appreciated self-titled album of the year contender, which is out now.
