As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m a sucker for catchy lo-fi, so when I heard The Orwells‘ “Mallrats (La La La)” for the first time, I was completely hooked.
Fuzzy guitars, distorted vocals, catchy hooks, and a bit of edge. That’s exactly what I look for in a song, and it’s exactly what I get from newcomers The Orwells. The Chicago-area five-piece know how to create the perfect rock song, shredding at all, at the ripe, young ages of seventeen. If they can do this at seventeen, imagine what they will be able to do as their career progresses.
The band’s debut, Remember When, is out August 7th via Autumn Tone and should be filled with even more kick ass tracks. These guys really seem like the real deal, and I can’t wait to hear what these kids do next.
