Tomorrow, August 19th, marks World Humanitarian Day and in an effort to help raise even more awareness about it Beyoncé has released this video for “I Was Here”, filmed at the United Nations General Assembly in NYC last week. As she sings on stage there are images of relief efforts going around the world being played behind her.
The campaign is aiming to reach 1 billion people with their message, with simultaneous screenings of the video going out across TV, movie theatres, and screens on buildings throughout New York City, Dubai, and Geneva. “I Was Here” is taken from Beyoncé’s latest album 4.
