Video: The Irrepressibles - New World
What’s there to say about The Irrepressibles that hasn’t been said already? Quite a lot, actually, since there are nowhere near enough people talking about them.
Fitting somewhere in between Antony And The Johnsons and Perfume Genius, their music is hauntingly affecting, conjuring sparse atmospheres that are populated with hope, joy, sorrow, contemplation, and solitude. Further proof/convincing can be found in “Arrow” and “Tear”.
All of the above/below tracks are taken from the band’s debut album Nude, out on October 22nd via Of Naked Design Recordings.

Listen/Download: The Irrepressibles - Tear
Almost a month ago I was treated to my first exposure to The Irrepressibles by our writer Esti as she posted their latest video for “Arrows”, and now they’re back with the second single from their upcoming album Nude.
Where “Arrows” was a more stripped-down and basic piano-focused ballad, “Tears” still uses the main crutch of the haunting falsetto vocals but couples it with a gorgeous upwards-moving chord progression played on a harp (or something like that, I’m not good at recognising instruments, that’s what Carl is for).
The Irrepressibles’ second album Nude will be released on October 1st which you can pre-order from their store.
